«Thalia, tell me, what makes Bern your Bern?» When you ask me this question, I love THE (for me) perfect day in Bern: let’s start with a delicious breakfast bagel at Tingel Kringel. Since everything here is homemade and crispy fresh, others may have already eaten your favorite treat. Therefore it is worth getting up early. The deliciously roasted coffee, in different varieties, will drive away any remaining morning tiredness.
When the weather is fine, I often go to the « Sünnele» on the Aare. I love the fact that the river is reachable from almost everywhere within five minutes. I am very close to nature, so I often go to the countryside or neighboring parks that are not necessarily on the hit list of tourists, such as the « Monbijou Pärkli.» A stroll through the old town is a must on a perfect day in Bern. But I’m more attracted to second-hand stores and, for a break, to Jusqu’a in the Brunngass – which is right next door.
As the day draws closer to the evening, it’s time for an aperó. I recommend the Volver for that. They have not only good wine but also super delicious tapas. Here I like to spend time with my family and friends. An alternative for dinner is the Zimmermania: good food with products from the region – the chef and the service staff are good friends. Janine, the owner, takes every order herself. From time to time, the Nonna does the wine service – very likable.
If the evening should be a little longer, we will surely go for a few drinks at the Taube and afterwards to the Kapitel. Here I always find inspiration for my hobby – I’m currently learning how to produce and DJ. To balance my daily routine, I like to do yoga or enjoy the view from my roof terrace at Rosenweg. From there, I can see the Bundeshaus and the Münster – simply fantastic! Just like the Polo Hofer Song, I am a Meitschi from Wyssebüehl. I love the coolness of this neighborhood. It is welcoming and very intimate. Just the way I like it! But now you tell me: what makes your Bern your Bern?
