Still, the editor Nigel Richardson is absolutely right about Bern: &#8220;The city&#8217;s perennial attractions are its state of preservation (essentially it&#8217;s a medieval town overlaid with a baroque veneer), which has earned it Unesco World Heritage status; its manageable size (you can walk the Old Town end to end in 20 minutes); and a laid-back, friendly ambience.<\/p>\n<p>By &#8220;laid-back,&#8221; he probably meant &#8220;No schn\u00e4ll ad Front eis ga zieh&#8221; &#8211; translation: off to the next roof terrace and make yourself comfortable with a drink. This is the most beautiful way to see Bern. From above! There are different places to be found here: The most beautiful view of the old town and the Bernese Alps is from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.schweizerhof-bern.ch\/en\/restaurants-bars\/detail\/id\/2270\/sky-terrace\">Sky Terrace<\/a> at the Schweizerhof. 360\u00b0 panoramic view and lounge feeling included. This is the way to celebrate life. And don&#8217;t forget our terrace! We have reserved it just for you.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-183581 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.staykooook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/klosterli-weincafe-min-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2200\" height=\"1467\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The same applies to a cozy spot on the Aare, which is virtually the main artery of Bern. In addition to countless pop-up bars, there are also classics such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/kloesterlibern.ch\/en\/Welcome\">Kl\u00f6sterli Wine Caf\u00e9<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schwellenmaetteli.ch\/en\/\">Schwellenm\u00e4tteli<\/a>. As if one is lying on a river, one is washed away by the Bernese attitude to life.<\/p>\n<p>The Lorraine quarter, where concert cellars are a must, is also very lively. Many bars and homemade backyard pubs offer space for a mixed audience of different generations.<\/p>\n<p>The rhythm of life in Bern is simply different. For many, it is simply slower.
