Who hasn’t had a summer romance… We feel the same with our pop-up bars here in Bern: only there in summer, but the memories last forever!\u00a0 Such a special connection has arisen with the Kunsthalle Bern<\/a> and its summer terrace. The artist duo Lang Baumann has given the Grande Dame a floating lover, so to speak – the construction of the platform encloses the big tree growing next to the Kunsthalle and integrates it as part of the bar. The view over the UNESCO World Heritage Site and the probably most beautiful river in the world is paired with an excellent selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and cakes from the steam center. The highlight among many cultural events is the signature drink “Harry’S”, in honor of the former Kunsthalle curator Harald Szeemann. An exquisite set!<\/p>\n

A more rustic match is found in the B\u00e4ren Bistro<\/a>. Beer and bears come together here. More precisely, only local specialties are served in the old bear pit. Under white umbrellas, you can enjoy everything from a beer of the local breweries such as the Felsenau Brewery or the Simmental Brewery to hot dogs alias “Hot Bears” and “B\u00e4redreck” – a local Lackritz liqueur.<\/p>\n

On with some more romance at the Liebefeldpark in “Raum und Zeit”<\/a>. Lie on a palette sofa under colorful umbrellas and watch the sun go down. In your hand, a “Bern Mule” – a Moscow Mule, instead of vodka combined with the local trend schnapps Ingwerer – the summer couldn’t be more beautiful.<\/p>\n

Maybe not so romantic but more colorful and wild at Trybhouz<\/a>. The summer bar with Hawaii feeling is located in Altenbergp\u00e4rkli directly at the Aare, where ” W\u00e4uebr\u00e4tle” (surfing) is on the daily menu, as well as a cool Lola limo or a delicious Mojinja drink. For refreshment, there are unusual aperitif plates and Halloumi burgers in sourdough bread with honey-mustard-rosemary sauce. Mmmmm… the surfers already know what the ladies like!<\/p>\n

For lovers of voyeurs, the Aarebar<\/a> is more suitable. Don’t worry – the allusion is meant purely ironically because this is about ” to be seen and to see”. Between Marzili and Eichholz, where the banks of the Aare turn into a catwalk from May to August, there is a converted shipping container that has established itself as a summer paradise. With an ice-cold B\u00e4rner M\u00fcntschi in your hand, you can watch the Aare swimmers.<\/p>\n

But there’s nothing like THE Bernese pop-up pearl: high above the city you can catch the last ray of sunshine of the day in the summer night lounge “Bar8”<\/a>. Sixty steps or a lift ride away from everyday life, the terrace on the eighth floor of Neufeldstrasse 95 transforms into a jewel in the sky. But it gets even better: the summer bar with many secluded places is an inclusion project of Provisorium46<\/a>, in which people with and without disabilities work, implemented in cooperation with the Bern Centre for the Blind and Disabled. Love knows no boundaries! With this in mind: cheers to a beautiful summer!<\/p>\n
