As autumn approaches and the days become shorter, there is no reason to move back into your quarters in Bern. The colorful season has many events that you shouldn’t miss.<\/p>\n

In October, the enjoyment continues right away. The annual wine fair<\/a> offers the best of around 50 wine exhibitors from the region, accompanied by matching delicacies and show cooking\u2014 an excellent experience for experts and wine lovers.<\/p>\n

A real highlight is the Rendez-Vous<\/a> on Bundesplatz: from the end of October to the end of November, the light spectacle takes place twice a day. In 30 minutes, a story is told, which is either related to Swiss history or current topics. The spectators always get their money’s worth: they laugh, marvel, laugh with emotion, sometimes almost cry, and dance. The show, which is projected directly onto the fa\u00e7ade of the Swiss Parliament building, has been moving and attracting people from all over Switzerland since it attained certain celebrity status.<\/p>\n

At the end of November, an old tradition – the Zibelem\u00e4rit – also attracts many visitors. So many that you can’t get through anywhere in the old town anymore. As the name suggests, everything at the market revolves around onions: whether beautifully braided onion plaits, onion cakes, or onion chains. Due to the current situation there is a “Zibeleweek” this year. In many stores and restaurants there are delicacies and curiosities around the onion.<\/p>\n

And not in autumn anymore, but a great event is the Christmas market on the small hill in December. Eighty wooden huts with winterly delicacies, hot drinks, and design by ever-changing exhibitors. It is a European promenade worth seeing views as far as the Alps, surrounded by food trucks and lounges. THE insider tip from the founders, pop-up gastronome Tom Weingart and star chef Markus Arnold.
